I agree, even in Toronto the shop bread is awful, unless
you go to a specialty shop where you can get a great selection.
Goldens was a great place, also for the candy for the pictures.
Stewarts ice cream, can we forget it, calories! but who cared,
there was also another ice cream parlour, The Garden Shop, end of Main St.
(Margaret Ward nee Roach), also wonderful ice cream. May Leonard, who can
forget the penny slap, roll that around in your mouth, I can still taste
it.
