You're right MM.Maybe the musical background had something to do with it. I remember being fascinated when the carnivals were held in the big marquee opposite the tennis pavilion. The bands would arrive at about 8 pm, bring in the instruments and set up for the performance. Us youngsters were sometimes permitted to try out the various instruments under the watchful eyes of the real musicians!Then the photos and the autographs and posters......
