Perhaps someday ,I will attend a game of Mayo ball at Croak park, and return to Castlebar by train as the sun is setting over Clew Bay on a westren summer's eve. I know I can never have A brandy with Lord Lucan or A glass of Stout with Monsieur Humbert. But then i'd get vexed with damm Cornwallis and how close we came to victory and ruin and more brandy if you please your Lordships and then the race would truly be on! I have often wondered if Michael Collins had a true Cork accent being that he spent many years away from his own native home. Was his voice ever recorded?. Now there's a lilt for ye. I will ride my horse down the Turlough Road for I have been invited to a shindig in the Turlough House to eat roast pig and drink fine ale and porter. And my horse will carry me home safe "And love and porter make a young man older, And love and whiskey make him old and grey, And what can't be cured love, has to be endured love ,And now I am bound for Americkay." Thank you for your excellent vignette U.T.P.With your kind permission, I shall take my leave now for I must be about my Father's buisness. Slainte.
