Max, I think there was a church on the road from Ross to Crumlin and I recall hearing this half parish was transferred to Turlough. As far as I can recall Turlough was a civil parish whereas the Roman Catholic parish was Parke. Strictly speaking, this would mean the half parish of Ross or Crumlin was transferred to Parke. The parish boundaries may have changed in recent time. I think the civil parishes followed old medieval or early church settlements and often cut across townland, barony or county boundaries.
