I never knew there was a specific table of weights to do with the wool business.
I remember the bales of wool being delivered to the hat factory in canvas wrapping. Judging by the size I would say I would say they were "sack" units ( 26 stone) The wool was hoisted up to the first floor wool store which ran almost the full length of the factory frontage on Newport Rd. There was one machine on this floor which turned the raw wool into finer fibres, then down a shute for the process of spinning and carding and dyeing to produce the end products - berets and hats.
