On the Curragh of Kildare, in 1815, in a spot called Donnelly's Hollow, Donnelly fought Cooper in a boxing match. Donnelly won. He died in 1832 aged 32 years and one of his arm was preserved in a hostelery in Kilcullen. The details were familiar in the 1960's to all stationed in the Curragh. His arms are said to have hung to his knees. Is the arm still preserved in Kilcullen? Anyone?????
