Isn't it amazing what tricks memory plays on us. I am surprised that I knew almost all of them, considering I was only a nipper when this was taken. Christy says about 1957, but I think closer to 1960 because a number of lads went to boarding school, after 6th. class,Brian Bresnihan, Tom Durcan, Tom Moran, Ml. Murphy, Barry O'Dwyer etc.
In Castlebar in the early sixties, it was easy to know almost everybody. I still remember one of your neghbours the Murphy's as he used to meet up with the Mullen girl at the monument on the Mall at lunchtime! and the FCA colour party in the St. Pat's. parade, and Cyril Chapman as he sold his basildon bond notepaper and envelopes from the back of a pick up , covered in green canvas, near the garden shop.
By the way, Ken Forde is left of Coney Mc Ateer according to expert opinion!
