Yes, the names on your piece re. the diving board brought back memories. I don't recall the swimming gala in Longford though.
I do remember going on a walk to Westport with the Ramblers Club one Sunday and deciding to "rest" in the Halfway House on the way home and it created war afterwards. We were suspended or expelled as a result. Innocent fun for such a bunch of quiet youngsters.
