The image is linked to what is called an "imagemap" which allows you to outline sections of the photograph. In this case there is a circle drawn around the individual heads and the name is inserted at the "alt tag" for each circle. If you view the html source of the page with the photo you will get an idea of what it looks like. It could be elaborated on further by turning each circle into a clickable link which could, for example, point to a separate web page dedicated to each individual in the photo - cv, up to date photo, and the like. Most web page editor programmes have a facility to allow you to prepare image maps like this - e.g. homesite - and there are special imagemap programs available too. Anyone who would like to try their hand at it shoudl prepare the imagemap first using an editor and they can then cut and paste the html code into the content box on our new Castlebar.News and then link to it from the Nostalgia Board.
