Thanks for the reference. I can recommend to you the Hugh Corbett mysteries by Paul Doherty (Headline Books);the Sister Fidelma mysteries by Peter Tremayne (Headline Books); and for something totaly different the books by Tony Hillerman - a mystery series set in the Navajo reservations (HarperCollins). All give wonderful insights into the eras and cultures in which they are set.
