My fiancee and her Brazilian immigrant friends are thinking a boycotting Walmart, here in Marietta, Georgia. lol. Wouldn't that be the smallest flee on the largest elephant. (I think Walmart may have invaded Ireland by now).

Apparently, one of her Brazilian friends were recently mistreated verbally by a Walmart customer service person in the eyeware dept. The Brazilian girl was trying to locate a eye-test perscription from a doctor friend... the Walmart person says ..."how could someone like you have a friend who is a doctor..." referring to the poor clothing, broken english and being a immigrant to USA. The girl went to the washroom (Canadian for restroom)to cry. Poor thing --many lack confidence thats all.

When my fiancee told me the story ... I just laught.

She wanted me to explain.

I have been an immigrant to Ireland at the age of 5 yrs old -- back to Canada at 12 yrs old (with another funny accent) and so on to the USA.
I said I understand.
BUT she says...in her broken english ..."they want to boycottt ... how do you pronounce that word?"

I explain the Lord Boycott, Co. Mayo story. Also I explained that Sam Walton's family (who started WalMart) were from Kiltamach (please excuse my spelling), Co. Mayo. Also I have a brother and sister born in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

She laughed too.

Boy, it sure is a small world.
