Patsey Carney, my great-grandmother's brother, married Mary O'Boyle, the sister of my new found correspondent's grandfather. Both came from Letter. A son and grandson lived in Chapel Street where they had a sweet shop alas no longer there. How many school boys over how many years bought sweets there? And after mass it was also a popular stop. Carney's was to Chapel Street what May Leonard's was to Castle Street.
