Beautiful shot of Lough Lannagh Murrisk. What a gem that area is. I`m sure you will recall that frequently in the winter months the water level would rise above the top step. The cast iron cruciform pole was a support for a lifebelt. There was another one further up the shore. They were exactly 100 yds apart and deliberately so to facilitate the competitive swimmers of the time - Jack Cahill, Gussie Wynne, Tommy Lawless, Hyaci Pelly etc. I hope a snap taken from that position in the future is never spoiled by a built development.
