In my opinion, the desecration of Spencer Park was the greatest environmental / social injustice to have been committed in Castlebar in my lifetime. The council was obviously negligent in not buying the land and keeing the area green. The earthmovers were even working there yesterday to make preparations for more houses, I presume.
