I heard this house was bought by a French doctor or dentist as a holiday home in tghe 1970's. The family kept a power boat at the house for holiday use. I never heard of any vandalism. A small sruthan from the Reek empties into the sea in the middle of the beach. Some years ago my nephew's child, while playing in the sruthan, found an old hand grenade. Apparently, it had washed down from a cache up stream or was a single item lost in the War of Independence/Civil War. Lecanvey continues to be the holiday site of preference for the next generation!
