Why was it that the remains of the old castle at lough Lannagh were never cleaned up. This could be an ideal walking or picnic area and really open up the entire lake as opposed to the walk just stopping in the middle of nowhere on this side. Bearing in mind that this castle is a piece of the history of castlebar it is a sheme to see it falling to ruin and its only use being a drinking haunt for younger people. Should we not start asking some questions of people in authority, when you consider the amount of money that has been wasted in our town on other features why not do something that enhances the lakeside and keeps alive the history of the town??
