I too remember Mick with great fondness. Many is the time, in my travels from Cork, I
was in Castlebar,in the Sunflower, on a Thursday night. I was always up for a song with Mick.
The jokes, the incredible stage presence, and that voice, that oh so wonderful voice, the like that was never heard before, and never will again.
One year, while on holidays, I spent a week following Mick around to his gigs; wonderful times. I also remember a morning spent in Johnny McHales, watching a Big Tom video, and afterwards having dinner in Mick's house, by kind invitation. People don't often get to meet their heroes, let alone
sing with, eat with, and drink with one of theirs. I was fortunate to do all three , with one of mine. So Mick, who did it Your Way, until we meet again, may God grant you peace and tranquility; for someday we're going to to share that heavenly stage together!
