Regarding the above postings, it made me wonder tonight as I drove home from Dublin, what people were celebrating! I decided to take the back roads, via Ballymoe, Williamstown and Cloonfad and on to Claremorris. The illuminations around Williamstown and Cloonfad were unbelievable. There was one bungalow and we reckoned there must have been a few thousand lights, between santas, reindeers, a crib, and all the surrounding walls were lit up. It looked so tacky,it was worse that the big house on the Dublin road outside Longford town, owned by you know who!!
