Just come back from Galway after attending the removal of the remains of Karl Langan from Station Road. He died yesterday and is being buried in Galway tomorrow. Met his brother Terry and sister Jean and some of the relations the Mc Crea's. (Colin married Mary Fitzgerald from Saleen, father was in the Income Tax office and was the bishop in that great pageant in Mc Hale Park in the early sixties.
Karl always evokes happy memories from a tennis viewpoint, and eventhough he was some years my senior, most of our family woulld have played tennis with him. He was a tennis player with great style and as a club member remarked tonight, it must have been Karl who taught Paul Gavin how to foot fault!
He will always be remembered as a great character, full of joy and wouldn't hurt a fly. May he rest in peace.
