Enjoyed that piece Murrisk but need to go over it again. The names certainly bring back memories of Castlebar people having been mentioned regularly when I was a youngster.
However,I know that the piece concentrates on brass bands, but there were of course school bands in existence over the years, started I think by Bro. Gerald when the military barracks was in use as a national school. He was followed then by Bro. Damien (remember Birdie?)and then Julius and then Augustus took over the baton.
And we all looked so well in our kilts!
