Thanks for that Murrisk, I knew you'd come up trumps! I actually missed out completely on that original discussion, don't know how. I remember as a youngster hearing references to the numbers of coffins and the fact that whatever wood was being used was difficult to obtain at the time, and so they had to make do with whatever materials they could get. Does anyone know if there were any other coffin makers in Castlebar at that time?
