Seeing all the Peony Roses in gardens and the Wild Woodbine(Honeysuckle) by the roadside on my walk this morning reminded me of Castlebar. It is a misty fresh morning.I was reminded of strewing flowers walking backwards in the Corpus Christi Processions in the 1950's.Our fancy wicker baskets were covered with red and white crepe paper and filled with any flowers available in the garden. The most popular were roses and peony roses. For several years the peonies for my sisters and my baskets were supplied by Mrs Gavin,Knockthomas(Peter,John and Joseph's mother)God be good to her. This is a long Holiday Weekend(Memorial Day) here in VA and the weather is not cooperating for the many cookouts planned .Well the weather has never stopped me before,so we are off to the Chesapeake Bay to visit a town called Kilmarnock.
