The question was prompted by the fact that although I found it very difficult to find the Irish Aran wool or yarn when I was in Castlebar this year,I did find some and started to knit a throw or Afghan in the cable stitch.Its almost done and the picture I had tried to post failed.The Folklife Festival on the Mall in Washington,DC this week, had exhibits from Scotland,one of which featured knitting.Others featured Whisky(Scottish spelling)making and weaving.
