My older! brother tells the story of the family dog (forgive me for digressing from the current discussion ," St. Mary's church" and it's intended demise .I was never inside so I have no idea what it looks like, according to Murrisk (c/f "recollections") it is the oldest church in Castlebar, and I side with you M.M. on the passing of ‘The Gothic church ‘ for the harshness of the new architecture. Perhaps like your previous request M.M. for photos of the old cinema before the onslaught of the wreckers ball, we might make the same plea here especially for those of us who never made it behond those grey walls. We have a mutual friend Murrisk who travels daily to St. Mary's .
