Great Murrisk.The organist was Mr O'Connell,son was Barry.I still have a photo of him around somewhere,indeed one of yourself too Murrisk up on the Mall.I can picture the Church so well with your description.My father used to practice singing "Crown Him" at home.He had a very recognisable cough and sometimes in dead silence at Mass,he would cough up in the choir and I would nudge my sister and say "Daddy again".
The childrens Mass was every Sunday at least during the school year.The storage heaters were wonderfully warm.On a particularly cold day it was nice to be close to them.
On a different note,there is a very funny scene with a thurible and incense in "Keeping the Faith" with Ben Stiller and Edward Norton.Its out on video,good film.
