I tried to access the RTE site from your link and got to the front page, clicked on archive and then my computer froze. I had to switch off, go throught the scanning process and retry. The same thing happened! Next time I will try it via a different route to see what happens.
Wasn't John Mc Cormack some singer though? The nearest anyone has come to him in dulcet tones in my opinion is Finbar Wright. Some would say Frank Patterson, but I think his voice was a little too sharp, and not as full a sound or sweet a timbre as Finbar's.
