Magnolia Mary, the Royal Chords were from good ole Castlebar! They comprised Kevin Bourke and his family from Moneen and later when "The Leaders" band was formed, two of the Jordan's from Mc Hale Road. Willie Mc Neela, a cousin of the Bourke's also played with them for a while.
As far as I know, the current President of the Football Association of Ireland (soccer)one Mr. Pat Quigley, who hails from Ballyheane also sang with them at some stage as did Martin Heneghan from Breaffy.
Those people you mentioned with the Dickie Rock autograph, were in fact members of his band at the time.
Now as far as Maisie Mc Daniel is concerned, I can't for the life of me remember any of her songs except a cover version of "Heartaches by the Number" which I think she recorded. I'm sure there are many out there with old copies of "Spotlight" in the attics of Ireland who could enlighten you further on this matter. I think Maisie was married to Fintan Stanley who was a terrific accordian player and who played for a time with Dermot O'Brien and the Clubmen. There was reported rivalry between them regarding accordian playing.
