"The response to the competition was fantastic, with over 200 entries received from all age groups, reflecting the diversity of built heritage in the county" said Deirdre Cunningham, Heritage Officer with Mayo County Council, adding "The calibre of the entries was so high that it was very difficult for the judges to choose the winning entries in each category and we would like to sincerely thank all those who entered the competition". The winning entries have been included in the Mayo Built Heritage Calendar 2013, which is available from Mayo County Council offices and local libraries. The calendar reflects the range of built heritage in the county and contains beautiful images of some fine examples of buildings and structures found throughout the county.
