Snugboro brought the curtain down on their Season with an emphatic victory over Swinford on Sunday last 29 Sep 2002.

Danny Lawless settled the nerves with a spectacular free kick after only 4 minutes on the clock. Playing neat passing football, which is the hallmark of this team, the Boro created numerous chances to add to their lead but some wayward finishing combined with stout defensive play by Swinford and the half time score was 1-0.

In the second half Swinford began to string some passing movements of their own together, but Keith Bourke in the home goal was rarely threatened. As the half wore on Snugboro upped the tempo and further goals were inevitable, Aaron Curry scored twice while David Hickey came inside from the left wing and unleashed an unstoppable right foot shot to the corner of the net. Full back Anthony Healy came forward to complete the scoring in the 85th minute.

Despite this convincing win results elsewhere conspired to ensure that Snugboro will be playing Div One football again next season, missing out on promotion by a single point. In fact, only three points separated the top four teams in this division.
