Snugboro United opened their defence of the Tonra cup in style on Easter Monday with an emphatic victory over the home side in Manulla

Despite falling behind to an early Manulla strike Snugboro settled in well to their normal passing game with Danny Lawless and Barry Kelly controlling matters from mid field
Their deserved equaliser duly arrived courtesy of a stunning David Hickey free kick after 25 minutes.

Eight minutes later Stevie Clarke broke through the Manulla offside trap to slot home and give Snugboro the lead for the first time.

David Roughneen had an opportunity to double the lead but his sizzling effort struck the bar.

Manulla took advantage of a defensive mix up to snatch an equaliser just before the break.

The second half saw Snugboro take control again and they created chances for Joe McDonnell Barry Kelly and Padraic Conway. Indeed it was centre half Conway who found the net in the 70th minute following a corner.

Substitute Brian Reilly wrapped up the game for Snugboro when he cooly finished a Barry Kelly cross ten minutes before the end.
