Welcome Inn Mayo League Division 1
SNUGBORO DRAW A BLANK
Snugboro Utd 0 - Kiltimagh /Knock Utd 0

Snugboro and Kiltimagh/Knock Utd shared the spoils in a hard fought encounter played at the GMIT Grounds in Castlebar on Sunday last. The wet under foot conditions made attractive football difficult for both sides, nevertheless they both gave their all before having to settle for a point each.

Snugboro started the brightest with Steve Clarke going close in the second minute while Danny Lawless shot narrowly wide from a free kick after Anthony Healy was brought down after a surging run from midfield. As the half wore on KIltimagh /Knock came in to the game creating space in front of the Boro back four without creating any meaningful chances.

The second half was a mere fifteen minutes old when the visitors were reduced to ten men. The red card seemed harsh considering the conditions. This prompted wave after wave of Snugboro attacks but despite coming close on numerous occasions the breakthrough failed to materialise. On the one occasion they found the net, Danny Lawless's effort was controversially ruled offside.
As Snugboro piled forward in the closing minutes Goalkeeper Frank Scully was called upon to thwart KIltimagh/Knock with a double save following a swift counter attack.
