Damien MacGraith to officiate UEFA Super Cup Final

Major appointment for Irish match official

IRISH refereeing received a major boost with the confirmation that Damien MacGraith will be part of the team of officials for the UEFA Super Cup Final between Barcelona and Sevilla in Tbilisi next month.

The 34-year-old Mayo native will be first assistant to Scottish referee Willie Collum for for clash of the La Liga superstars in Georgia on August 11.

SSE Airtricity League official MacGraith has previously officiated in UEFA Champions League, World Cup qualifiers, UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers and the 2011 UEFA U21 Championships Final between Switzerland and Spain in Denmark.

"This is a fantastic achievement for Damien and well deserved following his consistently high level of performance at UEFA competition matches throughout season 2014-2015," said FAI Referee Nation coordinator John Ward.
