Milebush Park Internationals

Milebush Park Castlebar has been nominated by the Football Association of Ireland to hold a number of International games on the following dates May 30th & 31st and the 1st June. Countries involved will be the Republic of Ireland, England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. This tournament is in conjunction with Cerebal Palsy, which the FAI are closely involved with.




FAI Kickstart 1 Soccer Course

The Football Association of Ireland are holding a Kick Start 1 Coach Education Course in Milebush Park, Castlebar on Saturday 22nd Feb from 9am to 5.30pm

Participants must attend all modules of the course in order to qualify for certification. This course is designed to, assist beginner coaches, parents, teachers introduce young children (6-9) to fundamental warm up activities, basic activities and fun games in a safe, structured and stimulating environment. Course fee is €45. This course is limited to 24 participants so book early to avoid disappointment.

Kick Start 1 coaches will receive an FAI Kick Start 1 certificate of attendance as part of the National Coaching Development Programme.

FAI Senior Intro Soccer Course

The Football Association of Ireland are holding a Senior Intro Coach Education Course in Milebush Park, Castlebar on Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd March from 9am to 6.30pm both days.

AIM:To introduce coaches/managers to their role in coaching adult players (17 years plus), and to assist them to prepare, plan and implement functional practices and conditioned games for the 11 aside game.

OBJECTIVES:To provide coaches with the ability to Identify and develop coaching skills for the adult game.Communicate, relate with and motivate the current Senior Grassroots Adult Player.Introduce warm-ups, basic soccer specific conditioning and technical and tactical functional practices., Apply appropriate training/ coaching methods to progress players from the small-sided game to the 11 aside game, Identify and apply principles of play in attack, defence and set-pieces.

Course fee is €75. This course is limited to 24 participants so book early to avoid disappointment.

 

FAI Kickstart 2 Course

The Football Association of Ireland are holding a Kick Start 2 Coach Education Course in St Brendans College, Belmullet on Saturday and Sunday 8th and 9th March

The course shall run from from 9.00am to 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Participants must attend all modules of the course in order to qualify for certification. Course descriptor is attached. Course fee is €75. This course is limited to 24 participants so book early to avoid disappointment.

FAI 4 V 4 GAMES WORKSHOP

A 4 v 4 games workshop will be held in Milebush Park, Castlebar on Friday 14th March from 7pm - 10pm. for bookings or more information please contact Paul Byrne on 0868579678

AIM:
The workshop is designed to give coaches working with young players (aged between 6 and 9 years of age) the knowledge and confidence to incorporate meaningful small-sided games into their training sessions.
OBJECTIVES:
The coach will be able to:
• Promote the use of small-sided games (SSG) practices earlier in their training sessions.
• Understand the importance of development of children between the age of 6-9, rather than winning at all cost.
• Improve their knowledge of coaching styles for working with 6-9 year old age group.
• Appreciate a better understanding of the characteristics of the 6-9 year old football player.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Attendees of this workshop should be in possession of the Kick Start 1 certificate.
DURATION/FORMAT: 3 hours.
ASSESSMENT: Attendance Certificate.
COURSE FEE: €25.


FAI 7 V 7 GAMES WORKSHOP

AIM:
The workshop is designed to give coaches working with young players (aged between 9 and 12 years of age) the knowledge and confidence to incorporate meaningful small-sided games into their training sessions.
OBJECTIVES:
The coach will be able to:
• Recognise the 7 v 7 game format as the next step from the 4 v 4 game.
• Help the young players extend their learning to have a greater understanding of the game.
• Make the progression from the 4 v 4 game as seamless as possible for the young player, whilst making this experience fun and appropriate to the children's age and stage development.
• Understand the importance of development of children between the age of 9-12, rather than winning at all cost.
• Improve their knowledge of coaching styles for working with 9-12 year old age group.
• Appreciate a better understanding of the characteristics of the 9-12 year old football player.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Attendees of this workshop should be in possession of the Kick Start 1 certificate.
DURATION/FORMAT: 3 hours.
ASSESSMENT: Attendance Certificate.
COURSE FEE: €25.

FAI STRENGTH & CONDITIONING WORKSHOP
FOR 9-12 YEAR OLDS

AIM:
This workshop is designed to assist coaches with a minimum of a Kick Start 1 coaching certificate, to introduce children (aged 9-12 years) to the area of strength and physical conditioning.
OBJECTIVES:
To provide coaches with the ability to:
• Plan, organise and implement a strength and physical
conditioning training session.
• Identify the stages in the physical development of
young players at the age between 9 and 12 years.
• Incorporate a strength and physical conditioning
element into a coaching session.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Course candidates will be Coaches with the minimum of a Kick Start 1 Certificate.
DURATION/FORMAT:
3 contact hours.
There are practical aspects of the course, therefore please bring appropriate attire for both indoor and outdoor use.
ASSESSMENT:
Attendance Certificate. Full attendance is compulsory to gain certification.
