Mayo International Cup 2013

The 2nd Mayo International Cup 2013 is an elite soccer tournament, taking place across Mayo on the 23rd, 24th, 25th of August, featuring five teams. These are the host Castlebar FAI Regional Centre U15 Squad and four high profile squads representing the best of the UK with Millwall F.C. and Bradford District Metropolitan Schools UK Champions 2013. Northern Ireland with Glentoran F.C. and Republic of Ireland U15's.

Niall Harrison FAI, will provide an educational element for grassroots coaches and parents.

The sporting knowledge and contacts of the members of the Mayo International Cup committee, has been fundamental in the formation of this tournament. Relationship building has become vital to the Mayo International Cup, with both current and potential partners and sponsors for future years. We are especially grateful to our main sponsors: McDonalds and Mayo Mental Health Association, also Baxter Healthcare and local leagues for their support and Breaffy House Resort Hotel for the first class accommodation, food and hospitality for the visiting teams.

The Mayo International Cup is able to showcase the Mayo region as an overall exceptional county as well as a fantastic sporting and tourist area, promoting Mayo as a whole over the duration of the tournament. The Mayo International Cup creates many benefits for both the local economy and the surrounding areas through the promotion of local sporting infrastructure, numerous tourist attractions and the showcase of our own talented players.

Overall international recognition is being achieved through the development of this tournament, providing further benefits to Mayo with those involved. The cooperation of all local clubs providing players, facilities, hosting and staffing matches has been fantastic.
