Today's (3 April 2011) Liam McEntee Charity Shield Final in Milebush Park at 3pm, between Straide and Foxford v Ballina Town, sees the opening of the new presentation area and the new seating, installed by Stephen McDonnell, main contractor at Milebush Park.

The seating has its own little bit of history today. When the FAI played games in Croke Park they had to install new seating on Hill sixteen, to comply with FIFA and UEFA regulations, for health and safety reasons. When the FAI finished all their games in Croke Park, they took out the seats. The Mayo League, took the opportunity to buy some of the seats from the FAI, and install them in the Henry Downes Stand. They also put in a new presentation area for cup final days. This will make the presentation of the cup easier and also for the supporters, to be near their team to take photographs.

All proceeds taken at today's final will be presented to the Castlebar Branch of the Order of Malta who are presently fund raising to buy a new ambulance. This is a most worthy cause, the Mayo League are delighted to help the Order of Malta with their fundraising.
