Connaught Gold Cup and Shield Final

Next Sunday (2nd October 2011) sees the Mayo League season coming to the end. The Connaught Gold Cup and the Connaught Gold Shield finals will virtually wrap up the season; and what a way to bring the curtain down on a very entertaining season. The League and Cup winners have been from all areas of the county and this shows the further development of the game in the county.

Now to Sunday, when we will see the final of the Connaught Gold Shield being played in Milebush Park at 1:00pm between Westport Utd C V Conn Rangers and later at 3:30 pm, the Connaught Gold Cup Final between Iorras Aontaithe and Ballina Town, what a great double event for €10.00 with a free programme, a full Sunday afternoon's entertainment.

Who will go home with the trophies is anyone's guess, whoever does will have earned them. May the best teams win, and we look forward to a great afternoon of soccer.
