Brian McHale gets another hat trick



Bangor Hibs played Ballyglass in the Touhy Cup and won 4 - 1. That man again was on form, Brian McHale, Bangor Hibs, scored another hat trick.

His fourth in four games, This has to be a record, can anyone remember, any other player achieving this milestone in such a short space of time? We will have to look back into the history books.


McDonnell Cup

The game between Ballyhaunis and Bangor Hibs had to be abandoned, due to a player receiving a very serious injury. The player in question, H Kennedy, Bangor Hibs, had to wait for one hour before the ambulance arrived.We wish him a speedy recovery.



FAI Irish Sun 5s

The FAI are delighted to announce that the FAI Irish Sun 5s competition will take place this summer at venues nationwide.

This competition is open to players aged 18 or over and has a prize that money can't buy: the opportunity for your 5-a-side team (7-a-sides can enter too) to play at the Aviva Stadium and it all kicks off on May 13th.

The FAI, the Irish Sun and Astropark have teamed up to create a league that takes 5-a-side to a whole new level, with amazing prizes, official referees, great value and great league management. Leagues cost €450 for 10 weeks, or just €56 per person in a squad of 8.

Masters League Manager announced

John Beckett, former manager of Fahy Rovers is the new Masters Mayo League Team Manager. He will take up his new position, in the next few days with trials in Milebush Park. John, said he was delighted with his new position, and will be assisted by Tommy Rumley Manulla FC.

His first game will be against Down in the over 35s League. This will be the first time that The Mayo League has ever played Down. This game will take in Milebush Park on May 28th, kick-off time to be announced later.

John Becket will then play the Roscommon League on a home and away basis in the John Sherlock Memorial Cup. Discussions had been taken place before John Sherlock died tragically on his way home from the FAI, AGM in Wexford about having a competition for over 35s. The competition will be held in his memory.
