Conor hoping for a Cap

Next Wednesday the Republic of Ireland play Wales in an under 18 match in Wales. Conor O'Malley Westport Utd is in the squad, as one of the two goalkeepers. He is hoping to be playing on the day.

Conor said all I want for my seventeenth birthday is a CAP. It is of course a cap with a difference, it is a Republic of Ireland cap, what more could a boy of seventeen want for his birthday. Conor celebrated his birthday, on the 1st August, but will not mind waiting for two days to get his best ever birthday present, of all time. This would be great for him, and also for his club, who are celebrating their Centenary year.

Happy birthday Conor, and bring home the cap.

Westaro Cup Final

Next Sunday sees the Final of the Westaro Cup, It will be played in Milebush Park at 3pm, where a large crowd can be expected, as Westport always bring a large following and Straide & Foxford will not be found wanting in this area either.

The Westaro Cup was first played in 1996, and is a Cup that all clubs would like to win.
This year the finalists are Westport Utd B V Straide & Foxford.
Westport Utd B will be trying to capture the Cup for the first time, there Premier side having won it in 2007.

Straide & Foxford already have there name on the Cup since 2003, and no doubt want it on again for 2011. In the previous rounds Westport have scored a total of eight goals, while Straide & Foxford have scored six. We can expect a few more goals on Sunday, as it looks to be a very exciting Final.

The League would like to thank Vincent Kenny of Westaro-Hosing Ltd for his continued sponsorship,in these difficult times.
