From Castlebar - County Mayo - Sports 2014 marks the 13th anniversary of the DeCare Dental Sport a Smile 5 mile Fun Run & Walk, which takes place in Claremorris each year in aid of Mayo Cancer Support Association. Over the last 13 years the event has raised over €115,000 for charity, thanks to the support of the participants, local businesses and supporters. This year the run will be reverting back to the original Knock Road course of 5 miles. The DeCare Dental Sport a Smile race starts at 4pm on Saturday October 4th from the square in Claremorris, with T-shirts and refreshments afterwards for all participants. The race is suitable for runners and walkers of all fitness levels. Maureen Walsh, CEO of DeCare comments "Mayo Cancer Support Association is a cause that we are very proud to support. It's great to see everyone taking part, getting active and healthy and supporting a great cause at the same time. The DeCare Dental Sport a Smile 5 mile run/walk has become a real community event." For those who wish to enter the Sport a Smile run/walk, online registration can be found at www.sportasmile.ie. Entry is €15 per person with all proceeds going directly to Mayo cancer Support Association. Registration and race pack collection is available on race day at Maxwells, Market Square, Claremorris from 2 to 4 pm. It is advised to arrive in good time to collect your number before the race.
