Occupational Sports First Aid ( Fully accredited)

Mayo Sports Partnership will host a two day course in occupational sports first aid on Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th March in Ballyheane Castlebar.

Note that this course is offered to Sports Volunteers at a subsidised rate and the fee for this fully certified course is €80 (normal fee for private courses can be double this fee). Private individuals working in the sporting arena can also book a place (if available) for a fee of €100. Contact the office at 094-9047025 immediately to book.


Child Protection in Sport Workshop for Ballina

Mayo Sports Partnership is hosting a 3 hour workshop titled Code of Ethics and Best Practice in Sport in Ballina next Wednesday 27th February. The workshop will take place in the Ballina Sports and Leisure Centre from 7pm - 10pm. A course fee of €15 per participant applies.

This ‘Child Protection in Sport' training is for Children's Officers and/or Designated Persons, Sports Leaders and other adults involved in the organisation of sport for young people.

The training will enable Children's Officers/Sports Leaders to:
· Implement best practice in protecting the welfare of participants
· Create a child-centred environment within the sports club
· List categories of abuse and some indicators associated with abuse
· Make appropriate response to a disclosure
· Make a report to designated officer or appropriate Statutory Authorities
