Mayo in Motion Walking and Cycling Month June 2014

Call for Events

Last year the Mayo Walking & Trails Partnership in association with Mayo Sports Partnership facilitated an initiative to promote walking as an enjoyable way towards a healthy and active lifestyle. Over 20 communities throughout the county participated in the project which proved to be an outstanding success with people of all ages participating. Based on last year's success we will once again be promoting walking during the month of June throughout the county. This year the month includes National Bike Week 14th - 22th June and as a result we will be including cycling events which are in the process of being planned.

The programme will be promoted under the banner of "Mayo in Motion Walking and Cycling Month" and communities are invited to schedule walks or cycles in their locality which will then be advertised by us in the local media and website.

If you or your community/ workplace are interested in participating in this initiative please complete a registration of events form and return it to the undersigned by Tuesday 27th May This date is necessary in order to compile a timetable of walks for promotion to the local press.
