From Castlebar - County Mayo - Sports Mayo Sports Partnership Spring 2013 Training / Events Programme Child Protection in Sport, Sports First Aid, Walking and Cycling Leader training, Sports Leadership Training, Funding Workshops and Lucozade Sport Education courses are just some of the upcoming sports volunteer training courses which will be available through the Mayo Sports Partnership over the coming months. These courses / seminars are aimed at community / sport volunteers, coaches or indeed anyone who may have an interest in sport / physical activity. If you are interested in being a community sports leader organising activities which would be fun and non sports specific then the Active Leader might interest you. This Friday evening and all day Saturday course is Irish Sports Council accredited with participants taught the skills of communication, observation and group management. Also included in the comprehensive schedule is walking and cycling leader training in April at dates yet to be finalised. With the huge growth of these activities in communities throughout the county there is a need for more leaders to lead groups etc. If you are interested in this type of training you should register your interest as soon as possible with the Partnership as places are limited.
