Victim Support

Victim Support is a community based voluntary organisation of trained volunteers, dedicated to the service of all victims of crime.
Branches throughout Ireland provide support and practical help to victims in their own homes.
Victim Support works very closely with the Gardai. A liaison officer is appointed to work with each branch and assists by passing on referrals.

Victim Support promotes the cause of victims through:

  • The provision of information about victims rights.
  • Influencing social and criminal justice policies, to obtain fair and compassionate treatment for everyone affected by crime.
  • Increasing public awareness of the needs of victims of crime and the issues affecting them.
