Mitchels Ladies prepare for new season
The Annual General Meeting of Castlebar Mitchels Ladies GAA Club took place in The Welcome Inn recently.
The meeting was told by outgoing secretary, Siobhan Lawlor, that the club had 116 playing members last season - but unfortunately the response from players' parents wasn't as good as it should be. Only a small handful of parents helped out with the teams and even less helped out during the club's Flag Day.
Sharon Flynn, the outgoing secretary, told the meeting that the club had broken even in the financial stakes over the past year.
Michael Gallagher, the acting chairperson thanked the outgoing committee for their magnificent efforts over the years in developing ladies football in Castlebar. He also praised the club members who respresented Mayo at every level last season.
It was decided to hold the club's presentation evening on February 17th in The Welcome Inn at which each member will receive their club bag. It was also proposed that player registration takes place on the same evening.
