Despite going 10-0 down at half time. They responded well with a try and conversion from Paul Coady. Sadly Monivea responded and came away with the win. Next up is Portumna in the cup on Sunday next in Portumna in a game that is very important to the club. Castlebar RFC Minis In Association with Shaws Department stores Castlebar Mini Rugby training resumes next Saturday at the Clubhouse at 10.30am and we hope to see everyone out as it plans to be a very busy year. St Stephen's Day The Annual St Stephens day Clash between the Captain’s XV and the Presidents XV brought a good crowd out to Cloondeash for some quality rugby. In the end, it was a very exciting affair with both teams playing brilliant rugby and refereed well by Leon. The final score of 30-30 showed the quality on show at the club and the standard produced by both teams. afterwards it was to the clubhouse and entertainment which went well into the night. There will be a full match report and photos next week. Congratulations The club would like to extend its congratulations to First team player Mike Power and his girlfriend Andrea who had a baby girl Ella over the weekend. We wish them all the very best and we all hope that Mike is as good at changing nappies as he is at scoring tries.
