Barcastle Industrial Estate

Following the closure of the Castlebar Bacon Factory the site was converted into a new industrial estate with a cluster of small industries. The site now boasts the single largest concentration of leisure activities in Castlebar with a Bowling Alley, gokarting, Laser World, Castle Fitness Health Club Gym a new multi-screen cinema complex opened in December 1998 (Mayo Movie World). In addition the cluster contains a number of thriving businesses - a partial list is given below - there has been very rapid expansion recently and a number of new businesses have recently setup here.
