I have visited Castlebar regularly over the past 35 years staying with very good friends, Margo and the recently deceased Paddy Gilligan in Marian Row. I have found Castlebar to be a lovely, interesting, warm and very friendly town. It has become a "home from home" to me. I enjoying travelling around the surrounding countryside, visiting the small towns and villages and doing some fishing and sightseeing. I also enjoy the town's night life and the cordial welcome I receive in the pubs that I visit. In summing it all up, I consider Castlebar to by my "favourite place" of all the places I have visited it the world.
