Chefs of Mayo Tranquillity Weekend Fundraiser

The Tranquillity Weekend was held in Knock House Hotel last weekend (23/24 jan 2001) in aid of Enable Ireland. This is a new fundraiser and the brainchild of Brian Crowley manager of Knock House Hotel and resident of Castlebar. The idea was that the hotel provide two nights accommodation and breakfast with a gala dinner on the Saturday Night cooked by the Hotel staff and the Chefs of Mayo - all for only £99 - and all proceeds would go to Enable Ireland formerly CPI. Many of the Chefs in Knock House are members of the chefs of Mayo and Head Chef, Frank Lyons is currently treasurer of the club. Members of the Chefs of Mayo who helped on the night in conjunction with the kitchen brigade of Knock House Hotel were Tom O'Boyle, area Manager with Sodexho Ireland, and Colm Donnelly of O'Gradys Restaurant in Castlebar and Joe McHugh of Food Flow Advisers Limited. Chairman Vincent Conlon attended the Gala meal and addressed those present. Over £4800 was raised for a very worthy cause.

AGM: The Annual General Meeting of the Chefs of Mayo will take place on Sunday 28th Jan in Knockranny House Hotel in Westport at 7.30 pm followed by a gourmet meal and entertainment. All members are urged to attend and new members are welcome.
