Fair Trade

Fair Trade Bananas, tea and coffee are now available at Irish Supermarkets and other retail outlets. Fair Trade supports the small independent banana, tea and coffee producers. This ensures fair wages and sustainable farming practices which help s the environment. So look for Fair Trade products in Dunnes Stores, Tesco and Super Valu whose policy is to stock these products. If they are not available on the supermarket shelves in your area, ask the store manager to stock them for you. Insist that they do- as it is the policy now in these supermarkets headquarters to promote Fair Trade.

In Castlebar Heneghan's Health Food Shop, Ellison Street stocks Clipper Fair Trade Tea, Cafedirect and Green Blacks Fairtrade Organic Cocoa.

The aims of Castlebar E-Live is to promote awareness of environmental issues and provide information on the simple everyday changes we can make in our day to day living to reduce waste, promote an interest in a clean and more healthy environment etc. We all have a part to play in protecting the country and the environment for our own enjoyment and that of our children. Should these ideas appeal to you and you feel you would like to become involved and do some little thing to improve the place where we live, feel free to come along to our meeting and meet with others with a similar interest. Together there is a lot we can do to improve our environment and make our town a better place to live in.
