Trivia

Q. Just as the referee is about to start a game he notices a player who is under suspension. Should he refuse to allow him play?

Q. What colour should assistant referee's flags be?

Q. A goal is scored and after initially signalling a goal he sees his assistants flag is raised. His assistant informs him that a player was in an offside position interfering with play and the goal should not be allowed. What should he do?

Q. What action could a referee take if he found out that an assistant referee was unreliable, inefficient or biased?
Ans. He may dispense with his services.

Q. During a match a team disagrees with a referees decision and walk off in protest. After several minutes the players cool down and express a wish to restart the game. Should the referee now restart?
Ans. Common sense needed, if they left for several minutes or he threatened to abandon it unless they return, abandon it, a report must be sent to the proper authorities.

Q. The referee is struck by the ball, which temporally stuns him the ball rebounds and enters the goal. Should the goal be allowed to stand even though he could not see it?
Ans. Unless he has a neutral assistant who has seen the incident clearly he cannot award a goal he hasn’t seen. He should restart with a drop ball and if still dazed should abandon the game and seek medical advice.

All the answers will be revealed when this site has been updated.
